With their larger diameter cable, extra heavy-duty leads provide a longer maximum allowable length from the outlet to the appliance compared to standard "heavy-duty" leads. They are specifically engineered for locations with limited outlets, where significant distances must be covered, or when voltage drop poses a risk, such as when equipment is positioned far from the main distribution board or when operating machines with a high starting current.

- The maximum length for general use is 65 meters. 

- The maximum length for equipment with a high starting current is 35 meters.
